AARP’s Community, State and National Affairs (CSN) Group includes Government Relations, Programs, Volunteer Engagement, Community Outreach and Advocacy at the federal, state and local levels. It delivers on AARP’s social mission by educating and engaging people 50-plus and their families, strengthening communities, and championing issues that help give people financial and health security.

Our team creates and executes various programs to improve the lives of people as they age and build a better tomorrow for future generations. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of August or September 2025 and will run through the end of the year, with the possibility of extending additional semesters.
This is a fully remote position and can be performed from anywhere in the United States and its territories.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Management: Assist in managing and analyzing data to identify trends and insights. Summarize key findings from data, highlighting trends and outcomes
- Content Development: Contribute written content that highlights achievements and insights. Identify case studies or success stories
- Materials Preparation: Assist in creating materials for stakeholders and other audiences about programmatic impact
- Support Program Implementation: Help with core functions and operations for successful program delivery
- Attend Meetings: Participate in meetings to understand the broader program context and contribute insights
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post-doctoral student, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and be enrolled in a continuing education program
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and adaptable, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, including different genders, races, and sexual orientations
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Zoom

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
