Summary Statement

Primarily responsible for problem solving and business improvement activities within the IT Department, specifically:



  • Assists the Director of Integration Management in designing and executing a comprehensive strategic communication roadmap for effectively communicating organizational strategy, programs, thought-leadership and operational effectiveness. This includes detailing short- and long-term technology goals, deliverables, insights and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement internal and external IT communication strategy that includes inspirational narratives and consistency.
  • Develop and execute, change management and organizational effectiveness strategies and initiatives to enable the IT organization to deliver on key objectives.
  • Works in partnership with IT colleagues to develop communication strategies for technology initiatives (aligning top down and bottoms up action planning efforts) to enhance brand.
  • Influences management and colleagues at all levels to increase organizational alignment and improve awareness of key messages and technology implementations. Develop and maintain content repository.
  • Works as an internal consultant to identify and articulate business strategy, develop key messaging and recommend courses of action. This includes partnering with stakeholders to understand all aspects of a situation and the pros and cons of alternative approaches. 
  • Prepares and reviews executive-level reports, presentations, memos and a wide range of content relating to technology and business acumen and achievements.
  • Stays abreast of new communication methods and channels to aide in the work of the department.
  • Writing, proofreading, editing, publishing and other duties as assigned in support of team objectives.


  • Requires ability to interact across all levels of the organization including managing relationships that are at the highest level of the IT organization.  Ensures department management is regularly updated and satisfied with project’s progress. 
  • Must be able to work effectively in a matrix environment, particularly influencing without final decision authority and leading while not owning desired outcomes.
  • Requires ability to understand an opportunity and independently develop recommendations with minimal direction.
  • Excels at stakeholder management and possesses good listening, writing, editing and communication skills.

Requires demonstrated ability to work with high degree of ambiguity, self-initiated but works well in team organizational structures.


  • Bachelor's Degree or MBA and 7+ years’ experience in a discipline such as Corporate Communications, Journalism, Information Systems or Business, Organizational Development preferred.
  • Extensive Corporate Communication Management experience including a successful track record of delivering successful communication and change management plans.
  • Strong writing, proofreading and publishing skills, especially for the executive audience.
  • Experience crafting non-technical language from technical subject matter. Able to coordinate with the author or technical subject matter expert to develop simple communications that is not too complex for the lay reader.
  • Strong analytical, communication and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional, matrix project team toward common goals and strategic objectives while fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Results oriented, high performer able to work in an environment of change and uncertainty with sound judgment under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and take a team-oriented approach; willing to proactively assist departmental colleagues. Willing to do whatever tasks are required.
  • Superb verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent project management, prioritization and planning skills.
  • Ability to integrate information and utilize independent, sound judgment.
