The DC State Office of AARP is seeking an assertive, self-starting student with a political science, or public policy, or events planning, or marketing background who enjoys working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Intern should have excellent writing, or technical writing, or events planning, and/or marketing skills. The internship will provode the intern the opportunity to assist with strategies aimed at engaging hundreds of District of Columbia residents through a variety of projects.
The intern will report to the District of Columbia State Director and contribute as a team member, participating in all team meetings. The interns’ work will include research, ideation, writing, member relations, and project planning and event execution aimed at engaging existing members and other persons 50+ in new and creative ways. The intern will also assist with all Member-facing engagements, and contribute content to state’s Facebook page and Twitter feeds as needed.
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors.
