Summary Statement

Are you currently a student working on a degree in areas of study such as social work, communications, or nonprofit management,?  Are you interested in doing outreach to a variety of diverse communities?



Responsibilities

AARP is seeking a student, to provide support for AARP Massachusetts’ efforts around the state. This intern will help with the various aspects of event planning and execution, research and develop opportunities for member engagement across the state, and manage attendees and run of show at local engagement events.

 

This paid internship will begin on September 6 and end on December 16; is located in Boston, Massachusetts; and will require a 15 hour per week commitment.



Requirements

  • You must have experience with basic research projects, gathering information, culling and capturing pertinent details with limited guidance.
  • Interest or experience in event planning or community engagement
  • You must be able to interact and engage members of the public.
  • A commitment to the goals and priorities of AARP.
  • Good organizational and communications skills.
  • You must have experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel, Facebook and Twitter.
  • You must be able to work independently with limited supervision as well as part of a team.
  • You must be able to drive to events within Massachusetts.

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program as a junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
