Summary Statement

Provides general support functions and day-to-day assistance to AARP Foundation’s Direct Response team.  This position will work on all aspects of the direct response program and will interact extensively with the Direct Response fundraising and implementation team, Donor Operations team, and program Consultants. Position supports both the Foundation and Advocacy direct response fundraising efforts.

Position requires a great deal of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.  Position will require assisting with the development and maintenance of schedules for a fast-paced multi-channel fundraising program. Proofing and extensive quality control experience essential.



Responsibilities

  1. Assist with direct response print production support and administrative needs.
  2. Extensive proofing and quality control functions.
  3. Assist with the maintenance and tracking reports.
  4. Maintain and create filing system for business unit, this includes paper and electronic filing.  This also includes creating and maintaining samples books for campaigns.
  5. Assist with processing financial documents in internal finance\accounting systems.
  6. Responsible for internal scheduling of meetings, this includes securing conference space and appropriate resources for meetings.
  7. Experience with WORD & EXCEL and an aptitude with computers in general required, ideally including database systems.
  8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  9. Comfortable in a fast-paced team environment.

Exercises daily latitude to accomplish assigned work duties and responsibilities.  Work assignments are routine, though exercising independent judgment on a daily basis is required.  Will supervise no staff, though must work well with others within and outside the program to accomplish goals. .Must be flexible, position requires interaction with variety of staff members within Direct Response.

Supports all direct response related efforts.  Primary contact is within Direct Response, however some interaction with other departments\business units personnel .Maybe some interaction with general public.



Requirements

Basic Requirements:

·         Three or more years’ Administrative experience in a fast paced corporate environment.

·         MS Office experience

·         Excellent oral and written communications skills including composition of business correspondence.

·         Strong proficiency in personal computer and contemporary computer software packages including spreadsheet development, power point and word programs. 

·         Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.

Additional Requirements:

·         One more years’ experience in direct response or development environment for national nonprofit preferred. 

·         Experience in data management and direct response production a plus.

·         Associate or Bachelor's degree desirable
