Summary Statement

AARP NJ has an immediate need in its Princeton, New Jersey Office for a Advocacy Intern II to work 15 - 25 hours per week over the Summer 2017, Fall 2017, and Spring 2018 semesters (hours can be adjusted each semester to accommodate class schedules).The New Jersey State Office is searching for an intern to join its busy team.  This is a great opportunity to work closely with the leadership in the State Office as you contribute to advocacy issues that impact AARP and its members.



Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Production of and distribution of materials for legislators, the media, members, and the public; 
  • Interacting with state and federal officials;
  • Story collection on varying topics;
  • Implementing social media tactics;
  • Assisting with the planning and implementation of legislative advocacy tactics;
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of advocacy events across New Jersey.


Requirements

Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising 1st or 2nd year graduate students.
