As an AARP Intern in theNorth Dakota State Office you will work closely with a great team of Advocacy and Communications experts to to support AARP North Dakota state plan activities and promote aging initiatives.
The North Dakota State Office of AARP is in search of a star intern who will work closely with the Associate State Directors for Advocacy and Communications to support AARP North Dakota state plan activities.The intern will assist with the following duties:
Our specific activities/priorities for spring 2017 will be identified by early December but will include work on caregiving, fraud prevention, and support for Fraud Fighter and Legislative volunteers.
The intern’s work will be guided and overseen by AARP staff. Tasks will be explained in advance and the intern will have access to staff for clarification and questions whenever they arise. There will be a variety of experiences provided including legislative tracking, attendance at legislative meetings, AARP policy research, issue research, preparation of communications to volunteers and others regarding our legislative and educational outreach work, and development of community volunteer teams to support AARP’s work across the state.
The intern will learn different web-based tools AARP uses to communicate with its members and others, including WordPress, Sprinklr, and Convio.
Interns must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or University, in their junior or senior years of their undergraduate studies, or in graduate school, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
A proficiency in Microsoft office, knowledge with social media, especiall Facebook and Twitter are required. Students studying Communications, Social Work, or Public Policy preferred
